Every tag has a flag called SL flag. If you apply any "Filtering Gen2" filter to the reader it will only inventory/report tags whose SL flag is asserted.
In order to define which tags are going to have the SL flag asserted you have to create filters and pay special attention to the action option, which is better explained at Table 6.30: Tag response to Action parameter of the attached file
Eg.:The user creates the following filter:
- Action: ASLINVA_DSLINVB (Assert SL of tags matching the filter and deassert SL of tags not matching the filter)
Notice this action corresponds to action 000 of "Table 6.30: Tag response to Action parameter" of the attached file)
- Memory Bank: EPC
- Bit Pointer: 80
- Hex Mask: 001A
- Mask Length: 16
In this scenario, the reader will report only tags whose EPC ends with 001A.
The attached file, which is part of the GS1 EPC Gen2 specification, explains in detail how the reader filtering works.
Doubts you may have after reading the attached file:
- How can I change the "Target" setting described in the "Table 6.29: Select command" table? You can't. The reader automatically set it to 100: SL
- How can I change the "Truncate" setting described in the "Table 6.29: Select command" table? You can't. The reader automatically disabled it
- What does "Inventory -> X" mean? It only applies if you were able to set the "Target" setting, so you can ignore it
